Lindsey and Jarred's Simi Valley Backyard Wedding

October brought me three gorgeous backyard weddings to witness and photograph. Since Los Angeles and Ventura counties keep going back and forth on various restrictions, which has been so hard for both couples and vendors/ venues to navigate, many couples have chosen to use their own spaces to exchange their vows with just close family and friends. And you can't get closer than getting married in your childhood backyard in Simi Valley surrounded by loved ones. Because there were so many kiddos, a..

Mady and Joel's Summer Backyard Wedding

You know those various people from your past that hold a special place in your heart, even if you haven't seen them in years and years? Mady is one of those people for me. When I was a Senior at Santa Susana High School, Mady was a Sophomore, and we were in choir together. The choir we were in went to a few festivals, so we ended up becoming good friends through all our shared time together. We even went on a little trip to Big Bear Lake with some of our other choir friends. Mady also has a conn..

Last Halloween 2019

So apparently there's a fun thing in October for bloggers called "Blogtober" Clever, huh? The point is to try to publish a blog every day in October! And I will tell you right now, that is not going to happen for me with having a toddler. However, I do absolutely love October and there is so much that I want to share! So as with all things, I will just try my best. As I said, October is actually one of my favorite months, and last year celebrating Nolan's first Halloween and season was so extra ..

Michelle and Steven's Santa Barbara Courthouse Elopement

Michelle and Steven seriously knew how to roll with the punches. They went through a few different options for their wedding day, and then good ol' coronavirus came and really messed up everything. But as I always say (I really do by the way, I say this at every wedding) "The most important thing about a wedding is that at the end of the day, you're married." Everything other than that is really just fluff. Good fluff, magical dream fluff even, but it's not why we have a wedding (at least I hope..

Lindsey and Jarred's Rustic Los Angeles Engagement Session

Well it's August so the year is basically over right? Honestly that might be a blessing at this point considering how absolutely terrible 2020 has been so far. Around this time of year I normally go to the Ventura County Fair with my Mom and enter my photography, and it was cancelled this year which broke my heart honestly. I'm trying not to get my hopes up as we get into the Fall season and trying to make peace with what may continue to be closed. I've definitely been focusing on some personal ..

Amelia and Matt's Bel Air Bay Club Wedding in Malibu, California

Who else feels like time just has no meaning anymore? Amelia and Matt’s wedding at the Bel Air Bay Club in Malibu California happened just five months ago. Which if you’re calculating, was right before the United States was heavily impacted by the novel coronavirus and subsequently started shutting down. It’s a weird feeling to think about this wedding, just wandering the venue with groups of family and friends celebrating the day and night away, which is now non-existent here in Los Angeles. (O..

Sharyl and Chris- Venice Canals Engagement Session

It feels like a lifetime ago that I did this engagement session in Venice Beach. It was the early part of March, before Safer at Home, before stores and restaurants closed down, before things got as bad as they are now. It's just such a weird feeling to be posting these and looking at them now. But we soldier on right? I find that blogging and working on images, even just doing home photography now while we are staying inside is helpful to being able to feel "normal". And love and joy and happin..

Laura and Rob's Madera Kitchen Los Angeles Wedding

Oh gosh, is this my first blog post of the year? Apparently so. Well, at least it's a really really good one! Laura and Rob got married on 2-22-2020 (Uh yeah, best wedding date ever I think) at the Madera Kitchen in Los Angeles. They began their day getting ready at the Line Hotel in Koreatown, which is one of the coolest LA hotels in my opinion. I think you'll see why here from the view from their room. Their day was just chalk full of attention to detail in the best way, all their font matched..

Brittany and Terrell's Agoura Hills Wedding

I'm very excited to be sharing this blog post today of a recent October wedding! The California wedding industry is so interesting, because we have weddings basically year round, there's no "off season" here. October, November, and December are just as busy as Spring and Summer! And for good reason, outdoor Summer weddings in Los Angeles can be pretty rough with high 90's weather, so it's nice to cool down a bit in the Fall. Not that this October wedding was really any cooler, it was in the high..

The Great Gatsby/ Art Deco Styled Shoot

This amazing styled wedding/ bridal shoot took place over a year ago in November 2017 at the gorgeous MacArthur in Los Angeles. After patiently waiting- Bridal Musings picked up this shoot and published it on their blog recently! So now I can openly and proudly share these photos that I've been sitting on and dying to share with the world for so long! An incredible team of vendors came together to make this possible, mostly by the very talented Sabrina of Weddings By Sabrina who was the mastermi..

Raw vs. Edited Images

I am SUPER excited about this blog post, because it's something I've never done before! I get a lot of questions from clients about "raw/unedited" versus "edited" images. They often ask if I edit my images, what all that involves, and if they can have the raw/unedited images as well as the edited ones. And my answer to that last question is always "no". For the reason that photographers rarely if ever give out the raw/unedited images simply because they aren't a finished product. The truth is, o..

Vicky and David's Rainy Los Angeles Ranch Wedding

I did it! I blogged again! I am so blessed and happy to say that we are expecting our first child next January, which means I'm about 3 months pregnant currently. My first trimester has been a lot better than some, but it's also left me with some crazy fatigue that has really prevented me of doing much of anything, let alone blogging. So while thinking of that, and thinking about how overwhelming blogging was, I came up with a new solution. Blog more frequently, but with less images. Meaning, ju..

Mommy and Me Session in Joshua Tree National Park

So fun fact: I had never been to Joshua Tree before this session. Joshua Tree is kind of a photographer's "bucket list" item, and so being able to go and do this shoot with my friend Lauren and her sweet son was an awesome experience! Also Lauren is a babe herself so we got to do some shots of her being a desert goddess while her cute little boy ran around and played on so many rocks. If nothing else, Joshua Tree is pretty amazing for rocks and rock formations. I don't like to do a ton of write ..

Mackenzie and Jack's Oxnard Tower Club Wedding

Excited to have this wedding up on the blog! Although my cat was not making it easy with her insistence on laying on my keyboard. She's a pretty terrible co-worker to be honest. Mackenzie and Jack had their wedding at The Oxnard Tower Club- which is such a cool venue. The Tower Club sits 22 floors up in the Morgan Stanley Building in Oxnard. It's views include the 101 Freeway, and the Pacific Ocean. Talk about gorgeous- especially at sunset! The staff is so sweet and the food is pretty amaz..

Katie and Andrew's Golden Hour Engagement Session

Happy Friday! We're finally getting some rain here in Southern California. Rain always makes me want to leave the house and go on crazy far away adventures. But since my car only has one working light, and my windshield wipers desperately need to be changed, and my tire pressure light just came on yesterday,  here I am at the Starbucks down the street. And I realized- I've NEVER done work at Starbucks before. I usually stay at home to work, and I never really understood why so many peop..
