Hello! My name is Holly Castillo.

I believe in a thing called love, and I know that that’s both cliché and a song title. I also believe that the only part of your wedding day that truly matters is that you end up married, because the details and the events of the day fly by. I've photographed over 100 weddings now, and every single one goes by so quickly. I love my job because even though the day goes by fast, those moments are captured in time to be relived over and over in photographs.

The one phrase I hear the most from my couples to describe me is "easy going". And that's pretty accurate, I think! If you want to give me a detailed list of shots, that’s totally fine! If you don't, and you’re saying “I just want to get married and eat cake” I got you. I am so in my element wandering around, capturing details, love, candids, and trying to make my couple feel comfortable. Weddings can be incredibly stressful (hopefully yours isn’t, but I’m being honest here), and having a photographer barking orders at you is just no fun. My style is to put you in lovely places, and let your natural love shine through. I know that's super corny, but it works.

As far as my editing style, "colorful" is the right word. I really value true to life colors, meaning greens that are actually green, etc. I strive to make my work timeless, something that you will be happy to see in 20 years, and won't look dated. I base my photo editing off of Kodak, a film quality that for me evokes timeless memories, and warmth. I hope that you see that in my work as well, and if you're drawn to that, let's definitely talk some more.

On a more personal note...

I suppose if we’re going to be working together on one of the most important days of your life, you want to know a bit more personal information about me! I’m 29, and a born and raised Southern California girl. My husband and I are high school sweethearts, and we got married at the ripe old age of 21. We are infertility victors, battling PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) to have our baby boy. I love Jesus, support LGBT rights and marriage, and am an Enneagram type 4 (could you tell?). I am also a lover of Johnny Cash, Creedence Clearwater, and the Avett Brothers.

I’ve been a photographer all my life, starting with those disposable Kodak cameras when I was a kid. I was taking selfies on my first digital camera (the very high tech Sony Cybershot if you remember those) before the term was coined. I remember calling them “self- shots”. So close, Holly. I never dreamed of being a wedding photographer, it would be a lie to say I did. This path fell into my lap and clicked for me, and I now can’t imagine doing anything else. I was never a “plan my dream wedding” kind of girl before I got married, but I definitely am now. I get really excited hearing wedding details, and I cry at all the weddings I photograph, mostly during the mother/ son dance, but also during vows, first dances, and other random things. Basically, don't be weirded out, I'm just really happy for you okay?
